Educators have been talking about the benefits of hands-on, student-directed learning for over 100 years. The idea of this also often referred to as the constructivism theory and has been used by John Dewey, Maria Montessori, Lev Vygotsky, and Jean Piaget, just to name a few. We refer to this as project based learning in the 21st century but it is all based on the same idea of learning through constructing and inquiry. I can tell you from my 10 years of experience in the classroom, project based learning has completely transformed the way I teach. I absolutely love it and would never go back to the traditional way of teaching. I created this website and training session to help inspire other educators because I believe in it so strongly! Enjoy!
